A single twig under pressure would break. However, if you bundle up all the twigs together it would not break. It is very important to build supportive relationship with people. The interesting fact would remain how to we better understand people. We could observe how they focus their attention or get their energy. We could even see how they perceive or take in information.When it comes to decision making, how they prefer to make decisions and we could also notice how they orient themselves to the external world.
In my journey to better understand people, I would always ponder on the fact that why people react to a similar situation differently. Why do some people choose to think before they speak and why other would love to speak before they think. Is that some people are geared towards logic or are some people geared towards emotion.
Individuals have got different needs in their lives. Some have priority in achievement and results, while other believe in affiliation and relationship. Some prefer to work alone while others like work in teams. Some thrive on control and some worship support. Some prefer interaction with a few close friends while others like to be in a wide circle of acquaintances. Some of them feel that in a social situation, they expend their energy while others are like a dynamo generating energy with each interaction.
There are also those who are task oriented and the others being people oriented. Some believe in the micro and the details while others on the macro, looking at the bigger picture. Some of them are quiet and reserved while others are loud and outgoing.
In conclusion, it is always good to be aware of your surrounding to better appreciate the ones that truly mean to you. Different Folks have got different strokes.
