How to increase your training business without spending excessive marketing costs.

There are 3 points to share which I think may be helpful in how you
can go about your business development:
1. Be a professional consultant not salesman
You are training people because you have something that they don't.
Don't end up like the all-too-familiar salesman who keeps babbling
about their products. Listen first! Know what clients are looking
for. Some don't really know what they need and so you have to prepare
good questions to uncover their needs. Once this is done, speak to
them like specialists giving prescription or answers to their
clients' challenges.
2. Be ready to invest to be known
Many trainers, especially those who are new, are hesitant to spend
money on marketing. Some skimped on it and produce substandard
brochures or email ads that make potential clients lose confidence.
No matter how good you think you are, your business won't come in
until people know you – and get a good impression. If you are tight
on budget, choose just one or two flagship topics and do up a
professional brochure or website. This initial investment will go a
long way in helping you to penetrate into and sustain in the market.
3. Be willing to give first
Be willing to share things that benefit people for free. If they like
it, they will come to you for more. That's where you get additional
businesses. There are different free platforms such as the
newspapers, magazines and forums. This "edu-tisement" method has
proven to be time and cost effective. Just make sure your contents
are good and remember to leave your contacts or URL behind.

Getting to Know People Much Better

A single twig under pressure would break. However, if you bundle up all the twigs together it would not break. It is very important to build supportive relationship with people. The interesting fact would remain how to we better understand people. We could observe how they focus their attention or get their energy. We could even see how they perceive or take in information. When it comes to decision making, how they prefer to make decisions and we could also notice how they orient themselves to the external world.

In my journey to better understand people, I would always ponder on the fact that why people react to a similar situation differently. Why do some people choose to think before they speak and why other would love to speak before they think. Is that some people are geared towards logic or are some people geared towards emotion.

Individuals have got different needs in their lives. Some have priority in achievement and results, while other believe in affiliation and relationship. Some prefer to work alone while others like work in teams. Some thrive on control and some worship support. Some prefer interaction with a few close friends while others like to be in a wide circle of acquaintances. Some of them feel that in a social situation, they expend their energy while others are like a dynamo generating energy with each interaction.

There are also those who are task oriented and the others being people oriented. Some believe in the micro and the details while others on the macro, looking at the bigger picture. Some of them are quiet and reserved while others are loud and outgoing.

In conclusion, it is always good to be aware of your surrounding to better appreciate the ones that truly mean to you. Different Folks have got different strokes.

10 Effective Trainers’ Techniques

The objective of any training is to deliver effective results so that participants can be more
effective after the training and be motivated to make changes and see improvements. The needs
to be effective in any training skills are now becoming more competitive and challenging for most
trainers and want-to-be trainers. In order to attain a superior training performance with high
demand, it must come from trainer’s skills & techniques that combine an understanding on how
people can learn best with processes that can accelerate learning retention and application.
One of the most crucial trainer techniques is by self-reflection effect of how well the current
training ability within its own capability is being developed, improved and refined overtime. This
requires taking a good and hard look at their training approach by comparing their training styles
with other effective trainers and must continuously make improvements to enable them to be a
professional trainer.
Here I outline 10 effective trainer techniques for self-reflection by development, improvement and
refinement that can keep trainers to be effective in their training approach.
Technique 1: Training should be designed for a purpose and needs to meet expectations by
participants, from understanding of theory to practical application so that when
they learnt, they can apply it effectively at their workplace.
Technique 2: Training should be designed in such a way that is clear, easy to understand,
novel and informative and most importantly, easy to apply. Recommended
approaches for use are case studies, role play or test for understanding
exercises.
Technique 3: Training presentation should be pace on a systematic and consecutive manner
that flow smoothly from theory knowledge to practical application. Most
importantly, the overall training presentation should be in sequence and be
current with the training materials and programs.
